Refugee Foster Care Orientation

Refugee Foster Care Orientation

Event date: 4/1/2021 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM Export event
Samaritas’s Refugee Foster Care program - operating through SE, Central, and parts of West Michigan - serves children and teens who flee from war, violence or persecution in dozens of countries. By the time they come to the US they’ve been separated from and often lost contact with parents and other family members who can care for them and have often suffered great traumas – and they’re not even 18 years old. Some of these youth will need a temporary home to stay in while we work to unite them with their families. Others will need a family to welcome them into their heart and home long-term while they build a new future in our communities.

Could you make a difference in the life of a refugee youth? Join us for a free information session to learn about refugee foster care, the licensing process, foster care expectations, and the next steps. This is meant as an opportunity for you to learn more, be curious, and ask questions, and is not a commitment to foster.

RSVP to RFCinfo@samaritas.org or call (517) 449-3270 least 24 hours before the event for Zoom info.
