Samaritas’s Refugee Youth Traveling Exhibit features pieces created by youth from around the world, now in refugee foster care in Michigan. These youth have been lost or separated from their families while fleeing their home countries, but through connections with local foster homes, volunteers, and Samaritas’s support, they are able to pursue the safe and bright future that should be every child’s right. Art creation provides an outlet for these youth to explore their hearts, losses, hopes, and dreams. It provides an opportunity for them to share their voice with the community – empowering them to express who they truly are through their own words and artistic visions. The exhibit offers the community a chance to learn about these children and consider how we can be a voice of welcome, stepping into their stories and journeys and creating a place for them to call home.
