I am sitting here in my office, the temperature says it is 22 degrees outside, with the sun shining. I have been hearing birds chirping. Signs that spring is coming. Trees will be blooming, then come the flowers. But we have an even greater sign of new life coming: the resurrection of Jesus - Easter!
While we are still in the Lenten season, a time of reflection and deepening of our relationship with our Lord. We are coming to the time of sadness and despair of Jesus’ death. We live in hope knowing that his death will give way to life with the guarantee that justice will triumph, Light will overcome darkness and love will conquer death.
As we enter into the final part of Lent and enter into Easter, might our prayer be to ask for grace so that we can live the promise given to us. By imitating the life of Jesus in reaching out to the poor, the marginalized, the least among us. As we strive to be neighbor to all we meet. Change our lives, change our hearts to be messengers of Easter joy and hope.
