Looking for family-friendly events in Grand Rapids? Look no further, these events are sure to be the highlight of your summer!

1.     Made in Michigan Pop Up Market at the Downtown Market. Shop the Michigan made pop-up market for artisian gifts, treats and Michigan made goodies. Then, head inside for food, fun and entertainment by exploring some of the 20+ vendors. This event will be at the Downtown Market of Grand Rapids on Saturday, July 22 at 9 a.m.

2.    Movies in the Park. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to Ah-Nab-Awen Park on August 4 at 6 p.m. to enjoy entertainment, food and movies. Selena and The Bodyguard will be shown on a large screen in the park, overlooking GR. This event is free and all ages are welcome!

3.    Grand Haven Coastguard Festival. Join the festival of all things Coast Guard! Parades, memorials, picnics, carnival rides, fireworks, car shows and craft fairs are just a few of the family friendly events being held on the beautiful coast of Lake Michigan. The festival begins on July 28 and runs through the first week of August.

4.     Ai WeiWei at Frederick Meijer Gardens. Time is running out to see internationally known artist, Ai WeiWei’s work at Frederick Meijer Gardens. The exhibit will be open until August 20, showcasing the artists first exhibit in the Midwest.

5.      Clocktower Concert Series at Samaritas Senior Living of Grand Rapids. It’s summertime! What do you get when you mix good weather, great company and local Grand Rapids artists? The Clocktower Concert Series! Bring your friends and family to Samaritas on Monday, August 14 to see Jesse Ray and the Carolina Catfish. The show begins at 7 p.m., doors open at 6:30. Don’t forget a lawn chair or blanket to sit on! The fun does not end there. Join us as well on August 21 to see the Crane Wives and August 28 for Mark Lavengood.
