We all understand that bad news sells. Maybe you have heard the saying “what bleeds, leads.” This is truly a sad reality in our culture. So we are bombarded with murders and fighting and all kinds of human tragedies. And yet we forget about the number of quiet stories of compassion, selfsacrifice and service.
Giving is one of the greatest gifts of the followers of Jesus. Well at least it should be. Jesus instructs us to take care of “the least of these” because in reality we are doing it unto Him. Do you know there are many volunteers that give their time and talents to interact with our residents at Samaritas Senior Living of Saginaw? From playing Bingo to putting together a puzzle, they are building relationships with our residents. This brings pure joy to their hearts. I want to thank all those who freely chose to respond to people’s needs and follow Jesus. You are blessed to be a blessing.
This spring let us all take time to share ourselves with others and in the end we will hear, “Well done good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:21
