The body relies on so many intricate muscles, organs and bones to function. One of the most vital parts are your knees. Your knees help you walk, get around, stand up and sit down, so taking care of them is crucial.
First, you need to build strong muscles around the knee joints with leg extension exercises. To do this, sit in a chair, straighten one leg out in front, toes pointing up; hold briefly, then slowly lower to the floor. Do 10 repetitions on each leg and try multiple sets.
Second, wear shoes with good arches and good tread on them. This will reduce the risk of a slipping and falling. Keep floors clear of objects that you could trip on, too.
Third, if you feel unsteady, use a cane. Choose one that is strong and lightweight, with a rubber tip.
Fourth, support a sore or weak knee with a brace, sleeve or tape. And for additional pain, hot and cold treatment on the knees can certainly help.
Be good to your knees. You’ll need them your entire life!
