Here at Samaritas, we are all looking forward to Hope Fest 2018. The purpose of Hope Fest is two-fold; to celebrate our residents and their families, and to celebrate our community’s anniversary. Hope Village (now known as Samaritas) was established in September of 1996. Hope Fest falls on Grandparent’s Day. This year the celebration will be on Sunday, September 9.
For those of you who may be new to our Samaritas community, let us tell you a little bit about why we all look forward to this family-friendly celebration.
The food is absolutely fantastic. Angie, our Dining Service Manager and Chef, plans a delicious picnic menu every year. You can count on a cook-out style meal, with hamburgers and hot dogs, many delicious sides such as broccoli and potato salads, and some type of delicious dessert.
The entertainment is always enjoyable. Last year we featured the Cherry Blossom Ramblers for the first time. We enjoyed their music so much that we have them scheduled to come back this year. The band consists of Doc and Donna Probes and their daughter who sometimes joins them. They sing songs that our residents love, plus add in some gospel favorites and more.
There is also children’s entertainment provided. We feature a large bounce house where the kids (and wanna-be kids) can bounce to their heart’s desire. Last year we had face painting done by an employee’s granddaughter. This year we are hoping to have another special surprise to keep the kids entertained.
This event will have off-site parking as it takes place in our parking lot and under the car ports. We will be providing a shuttle service to bring you over from the adjacent church parking lot (Feast of Victory).
Please RSVP to Jackie Dillinger or Amber Lynch no later than August 31, and then start praying for a sunny day. If it rains, the rain plan isn’t nearly as much fun!
We hope to see you all at our annual Hope Fest!
