In Honor of Alison Kamens
Samaritas Affordable Living at Alison House offers 14 apartments (10 one-bedroom and four two-bedroom) for physically disabled, low-income persons who are capable of living independently, with or without a live-in aide. Rents are subsidized by the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Residents must meet HUD’s income guidelines. According to HUD regulations, each resident pays 30 percent of adjusted monthly income as rent, which includes all utilities except electricity. HUD provides a monthly allowance to assist with the cost of electricity.
Samaritas Affordable Living at Alison House welcomes everyone who meets the HUD income requirements and needs barrier-free housing, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, national origin or sexual orientation.
