Keep Your Mind Sharp by Eating Smart Foods

As we age, our body ages too. We have to find ways to sharpen our focus, memory, attention span and brain function. You can accomplish that by adding smart foods and drinks into your diet.

First of all, eat breakfast! Those who do, with high fiber grains, dairy and fruit, help their brains function better. Caffeine, in moderation, can energize you so enjoy that cup of coffee (if your doctor allows it) or some dark
chocolate. But please don’t overdo it. 

Fish rich in omega-3 fatty acids, like salmon, are vital for brain health. Aim for fish twice weekly. Good nuts like walnuts, almonds and pecans can enhance focus. But again, please think in moderation. Avocados (containing good fat) helps blood flow and can aid the heart and brain.

As always, get a good night’s sleep, stay hydrated by drinking lots of water, get your exercise (both weight resistance and cardio) and take part in daily meditation. Those things help with relaxing the body and mind.

All these things will aid your brain and enhance your focus.
